No one walks alone

Welcome to the Tumour Foundation of BC. We’re a registered nonprofit charitable organization that has been supporting individuals and families affected with NF since 1984.

We strive to improve the lives the patients and families living with this genetic disorder through support, education and research programs

What the heck is NF?!

NF is the common term for Neurofibromatosis, a group of genetic conditions that cause tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body. These tumours can appear anywhere and affect people in very different ways – from blindness, deafness, and chronic pain to learning challenges, disfigurement, and even cancer. Anyone can be born with NF. It affects people of all races, genders, and ethnicities.

Tumours ≠ Cancer

NF is one of the most common genetic neurological conditions, affecting about 1 in every 2,000 births – that’s around 4 million people worldwide. There is no cure yet, but there is hope.
